Conclusion of 800th Jubilee Year
Mass with the Master
The celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the English Province’s foundation draw to a close with a visit from the Master of the Order, Fr Gerard Francisco Timoner OP, from 21 to 24 May
There will be two public Masses with the Master, followed by receptions:
- Sunday 22 May (12 noon) at the Rosary Shrine, north London (NW5 4LB) – all welcome.
- Tuesday 24 May (12 noon) at Blackfriars, Oxford – by invitation only, owing to limited space (invitations have been sent).
Concert, album launch, interview with Sir James MacMillan
The Master Fr Gerard will also be joining us for this special evening event on 21 May, at 7.30pm.
The award-winning Scottish professional vocal ensemble, Cappella Nova, will present highlights from their critically acclaimed new recording ‘Consecration’ of choral works by Sir James MacMillan, a great friend of the Dominican Order and regarded as the greatest living Catholic composer.
Set within the glorious neo-Gothic splendours of the Dominican priory church, Our Lady of the Rosary and St Dominic (The Rosary Shrine), this is one of the finest and most fitting venues for MacMillan’s sacred choral masterworks.
Post-Concert Interview
Sir James himself will be in attendance at this concert, and will be interviewed about his music and connections to the Order by Fr Lawrence Lew OP, followed by a Q&A from the audience.
Wine Reception
Tickets for a post-concert reception with the composer, wine, and an opportunity to have your programme or CD booklet signed, are also available.
