DYA Study Day: Dragons, Beasts, and Visions
About the day
Biblical texts such as the prophet Daniel, the book of Revelation, and sections of Ezekiel, Isaiah, and Zechariah all fall under the category of ‘Apocalyptic’. They are among the hardest texts in Bible, full of baffling imagery and extraordinary visions. Why are these books so strange? How are we supposed to interpret these images and symbols? How can they inform the life of a Christian in the 21st century and do they speak in any way to our modern world?
The study day will explore these intriguing texts, helping participants read for themselves some of the most difficult passages in Sacred Scripture. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion, as well as the opportunity to meet fellow young Catholics. We will celebrate Mass together in the priory church, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but registration is essential.
