DYA Advent Retreat: Faith, Hope, Love

About the retreat

The birth of Christ set in motion our return to God. To make this journey, we need divine help. The three theological virtues—faith, hope, and love—provide exactly this: the energising forces along the Christian path by which we come to know God, trust him, and love him above all things.

On this Advent retreat, we will prepare for Christmas by exploring these three theological virtues through the stories of Jesus’ birth, particularly the infancy narratives in St Luke’s Gospel. What can Zechariah teach us about faith? How is the Blessed Virgin Mary an exemplar of hope? What role does charity play in the meeting between Mary and her cousin Elizabeth?

As well as talks and meditations, there will be time for Mass, adoration and confession, and social time with other young Catholics.

Who is it for?

The retreat is for any students and young professionals (20s and 30s), including those new to the Catholic tradition or looking to deepen their faith.
