The Beatitudes - 3. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth

Friday, August 07, 2020

The Beatitudes | The third meditation from our summer series on The Beatitudes: 'few virtues demand greater courage of us than meekness'.

'I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly' (Jn 10:10)

Refresh your spiritual vision this summer with our series of meditations on the Beatitudes. Starting this week and until early September, we shall release a weekly audio meditation to help you reflect on the vision of Gospel joy that lies at the foundation of all Christian discipleship

Today, Br Pablo Rodríguez Jordá reflects on the Third Beatitude: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth (Mt 5:5).

The full text of this meditation can be found here.

To receive these reflections via email, along with accompanying suggestions for prayer and reading, find us on Hozana.

Br Pablo Rodríguez-Jordá O.P.

Br Pablo was born and grew up in Alicante, Spain. He first lived in the UK as a student of History and English at the University of Southampton, and after graduating worked as a language teacher in Oxford, where he met the Dominicans. He entered the novitiate in 2017. Reading the works of Thomas Merton was a particular catalyst for his calling to the religious life. Similarly, reading G. K. Chesterton, J. R. R. Tolkien and J. H. Newman led him to the practice of the faith earlier during his university years. He is interested in languages, 19th century literature and the history of English Catholicism. | pablo.rodriguez@english.op.org
