Dominicans at WeBelieve

Join the Dominican friars this summer at WeBelieve, a festival gathering the Church to share the hope we have in Christ, from 25th–28th July at St Mary’s College, Oscott, Birmingham,

The friars will be contributing to the Truth Marquee—a space at the heart of the festival for those seeking depth, dialogue, and a heavenly perspective on today’s most pressing questions. Among a range of different contributors, the friars will lead sessions focusing on theological anthropology—exploring what it means to be a human being created in the Image of God. Fr Simon Gaine OP, Fr Richard Ounsworth OP, Fr Peter Hunter OP, and Fr Toby Lees OP will all be contributing to a programme that will include:

  • Talks and discussion on themes such as the mystery and dignity of the human person, the human mind and artificial intelligence, and the effect of social media on modern man.

  • A conversation between two friars on Genesis and Evolution, bringing together Scripture, theology, and science in dialogue.

  • A keynote address from Fr Paul Murray OP, an Irish Dominican, and a theologian, poet, and spiritual writer who lives in Rome where he teaches courses on the literature of the Western mystical tradition at the Angelicum.

With four days of music, keynote talks, worship, and fellowship, the event will also feature Dr Gianna Emanuela Molla (daughter of St Gianna Molla), Msgr Michael Nazir-Ali, AnMari, The Southwell Consort, and many more.
