Ordinations in London
On Saturday, a packed church at St Dominic’s – The Rosary Shrine participated in the Mass of Ordination in which two English Province brothers, and one Southern Italian Province brother, were ordained – to the priesthood and the diaconate – at the hands of our brother Archbishop Malcolm McMahon OP.

Gratitude for Support
Fr John Church, speaking on behalf of those ordained, said:
We are filled with deep joy and an enormous sense of gratitude thinking back over the past couple of days, for the life that God has called us to lead. Pope Benedict XVI summarised the priestly ministry by quoting St Paul: “we work with you for your joy” (2 Cor 1:24). It is something we take to heart in these moments, that as priests of Jesus Christ we may be instruments of his peace and joy among the people of God. Our gratitude of course also extends to all those who have been involved in our formation, our families, the friars in Oxford and Cambridge, and the support too of lectors and the wider community.
The Dominican friars are very grateful to all those who prayerfully supported the ordinations, whether present in person or remotely, and to the many donors who have so generously marked the occasion with gifts in support of the formation of the next generation of friars.

It was a wonderful and joyous day. We pray for the three men ordained, for the Dominican order, for the Church, and the spread of the Gospel.
